DPP Requirements

What you need to do

  • A suitable prescribing environment that supports safe, supervised clinical practice
  • A named Designated Prescribing Practitioner (DPP) who meets eligibility criteria

All requirements must be in place in line with NHSE guidance before the prescribing training period begins.

Claim Your Foundation Training Funding

£27,295

per foundation trainee · 2026/27 training year

  • Consistent across all sectors & regions of England
  • Covers supervision, administration and salary costs
  • Same level for all trainees regardless of outcomes

What you need to do

  • Register each foundation trainee pharmacist individually
  • Submit an electronic registration via the MYS portal
  • Ensure all required trainee details are to hand before registering

Payments are made monthly in arrears. The first payment covers any months between application and the trainee's start date.
