Endocrine System

In this workshop, trainees will strengthen their confidence and knowledge in managing common endocrine conditions, with a particular focus on Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. The session will cover evidence-based treatment guidelines, including an update on the new diabetes guidelines. The session will also include guidance on recognising red flag symptoms of poor glycaemic control and diabetic emergencies. Trainees will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in exam style questions.

Course Content

What you'll learn

By the end of the course you will be able to: 

 

  • Develop confidence in identifying, managing, and advising on treatment options for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including insulin and oral medications.
  • Recognise red flag symptoms and complications of diabetes (e.g. hypoglycaemia, DKA) and understand when to refer or escalate care.
  • Apply structured clinical reasoning to exam style questions
